When the World Was Young by Elizabeth Gaffney

When the World Was YoungWhen the World Was Young by Elizabeth Gaffney
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Slow public library book club read about a young girl growing up in Brooklyn Heights during World War II. Wally Baker comes from a line of female doctors, so she has expectations to meet. But she wants to study ants instead of sick people. There's plenty of drama--race, ethnicity, war, romance, and female secrets.
