Review: Little Family

Little Family Little Family by Ishmael Beah
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved his memoir A Long Way Gone, and this novel has familiar themes from it--poverty, class issues, us/them, corruption. The young characters live in an abandoned airplane in an unnamed country are a "little family." This novel is literary without being TOO literary, and the setting seems African, even though I don't remember a country being named. I want more of Khoudi--she's bad ass and determined to rise up. I can't write pretty tonight--read Chigozie Obioma's NYT Review at https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/28/bo...
