Thin Ice by Paige Shelton
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Had to subtract one star because the main character is a popular mystery writer--I'm not a fan of writers writing about authors! But the fictional Alaskan town Beth Rivers chooses to escape to is brilliant! I kept thinking of Ketchikan, the only Alaskan town I've been to with no roads leading to it--have to fly or boat in. The local understaffed police department accepts Beth's help on cases a little too easily, but I did love the friendships and easy trusts that she developed with the local townspeople. I may give one more book in the series a chance, simply because of the setting.
