Review: Heads You Win

Heads You Win Heads You Win by Jeffrey Archer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I'm usually a huge fan of Jeffrey Archer's historical epics, but this one threw me a bit. Alexander, a young boy in Leningrad, needs to escape the country in 1968. There's a coin flip at the boat docks--one way will send he and his mother to America and the other to England. The book then goes onto to describe his life in each place in alternating chapters. Luckily each chapter is labeled either Sasha or Alex--both diminutives of Alexander. I was fascinated by how consistent both Alexanders were, but then the ending confused me. Judging by the other Goodreads reviews, I wasn't the only one. Still worth the read though.
